AI Crawler Check (aicrawlercheck.com), operated by Horatos.ai, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you visit and use our website.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

URLs you check: When you use one of our tools (the AI crawler check, GEO audit, crawler diagnostic, agent readiness check or schema generator), we record the website address you entered, the tool, the score it returned, the page you used it on, your country and a one-way hash of your IP address. We keep this for up to 24 months to improve the tools and to understand which sites need help, which may include contacting the business behind a public website about a more detailed audit. We never store your raw IP address with it, and for the schema generator we record only the schema type and the page address you entered, not the other values you typed.
WhatsApp: When you press one of our WhatsApp buttons, we record which button it was, the page you were on, the website and finding shown in a diagnosis card (if you pressed it there), the site that referred you and the page you landed on (only if you allowed analytics), your country and a one-way hash of your IP address, so we can tell where enquiries come from. We keep this for up to 24 months. The conversation itself happens in WhatsApp (WhatsApp LLC, part of Meta) under WhatsApp's own privacy policy, and we see your phone number only once you send a message.
Contact form and email: If you use the contact form or email hello@aicrawlercheck.com, we keep your name, email address, any company, website or budget you give, and your message, so we can reply. Form messages are forwarded to our team mailbox by our email provider, Resend.
Newsletter: If you subscribe, we keep your email address, the page you signed up on, your country and the dates you confirmed or unsubscribed. We send a confirmation email first and only add you once you press its link. Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe link.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

Usage Analytics: With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited, via Google Tag Manager) and Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) to collect anonymous usage data including page views, session duration, geographic region (country/city level), device type, browser type, referring URLs and aggregated interaction data such as scroll depth. Neither runs until you accept in the cookie banner.
Cookieless Traffic Measurement: Our hosting provider Cloudflare, Inc. runs Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views, referrer, country, device type and page speed in aggregate. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so it cannot recognise you on a later visit or across other sites. Because it stores nothing, it is not covered by the cookie banner and runs for every visitor; we rely on legitimate interest rather than consent. Our Cookie Policy section 3.3 explains this in full, including how to block it.
Cookies: We use cookies and local storage for analytics and essential site functionality. Nothing non-essential is set before you consent. See our Cookie Policy for the full inventory, legal bases and retention periods.
IP Addresses: IP addresses are processed briefly for rate limiting and abuse prevention and deleted within minutes. Where we keep a record (tool use, WhatsApp clicks, form messages), we store only a salted one-way hash of the address, which groups repeat visits without revealing the address itself.

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not require user registration or accounts to use the tools.
We do not collect passwords, payment information, or financial data.
We do not collect personal identification documents.
We do not sell or rent any personal information to third parties.

2. How We Use Your Information

Service Delivery: To analyze websites you submit and provide AI Visibility Score results.
Analytics: To understand usage patterns and improve our tools (via Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity).
Marketing: To measure our own advertising and, where you allow marketing cookies, to let Google build audiences of visitors who used a tool so we can show them our services elsewhere. We do not show ads on this site.
Follow-up: To contact you about a detailed audit only if you asked us to, subscribed, or the address you checked is a public business website. You can ask us at any time to stop and to delete the record.
Security: To detect and prevent abuse, scraping, and unauthorized access.
Communication: To respond to your inquiries if you contact us.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information to third parties. We may share anonymous, aggregated analytics data with:

Google: Google Analytics 4 usage statistics and, with marketing consent, advertising measurement and audiences.
Microsoft: Microsoft Clarity usage and interaction statistics, with analytics consent.
Resend: Our email provider, which delivers form notifications and newsletter confirmation emails on our behalf.
Cloudflare and Genspark: Our hosting providers run the site and its database on Cloudflare's global network for security and performance.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption.
Content Security Policy (CSP) headers prevent cross-site scripting attacks.
Rate limiting protects against abuse and denial-of-service attacks.
Bot filtering blocks unauthorized scrapers and attack bots.
Tool records, messages and subscriber lists are visible only to the site owner, behind a signed-in owner account.

5. AI Crawlers & Bot Policy

AI Crawler Check allows major AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity) to access our public informational content for the purpose of referencing and recommending our tools and brand. However:

AI crawlers are not permitted to access, copy, or reproduce our proprietary source code, scoring algorithms, bot database structure, or tool logic.
AI crawlers are not permitted to use our content to build competing tools or services.
Our robots.txt and llms.txt files define specific access rules for AI crawlers.

6. Cookies

We use cookies for analytics, marketing measurement and essential site functionality. Visitors in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked first; elsewhere analytics and marketing are on by default and can be switched off at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer. 7. Children's Privacy

AI Crawler Check is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.

8. International Data Transfers

AI Crawler Check is hosted on Cloudflare's global edge network. By using our service, your requests may be processed at Cloudflare data centers worldwide. We rely on Cloudflare's data processing agreements and security measures for international transfers.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
Object to or restrict processing of your data.
Withdraw consent for cookies at any time, unsubscribe from the newsletter, and ask us to delete any tool record or message linked to you.
Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

How long things are kept

The policy and the cookie policy list retention periods for each item. In short: checked URLs are not stored permanently, IP addresses are processed briefly for rate limiting, analytics data follows each processor's retention settings, and emails you send are kept as long as needed to answer them.

Privacy and the bots we test

When you check a site, our servers request only public files that any visitor or crawler could read, such as robots.txt and the page HTML. We do not log in, submit forms or read anything behind authentication. That keeps checks harmless for the sites being tested as well as for you.

Data we never ask for

We do not ask for your name, address, payment details or a password to use the tools. If you email us, we keep the message only as long as we need to answer it.

Who processes data for us

Optional analytics only load after you accept them in the cookie banner. The processors we use and what each one does are listed in the cookie policy, with a link to each processor's own policy.

What happens when you run a check

You enter a URL. It is sent to our server over HTTPS.
Our server requests public files from that site, as any crawler could.
The result is shown to you. We keep a record of the address checked and its score, with a one-way hash instead of your IP, so we can improve the tools.
Analytics cookies follow your choice; before a choice only a cookieless page view signal is sent.
